well the smallest drops in the back were done with a light gray pencil, the mid sized ones were done in white pencil and the biggest ones up front were done with a white gel pen

Ack! Dont be discouraged because of my art! i think yours is really good for traditional art. I definitely couldn't do that kind of thing traditionally because I stink at backgrounds (have you seen my gallery? XD) I think you did a great job with your medium and the judges will agree! Be proud of your work!

thanks, but digital almost always seems to win over traditional.
Backgrounds are hard for me too. It was tricky, but to make the background so nice and dark I used black paper.
