Craftsmen like this are very rare indeed. The only people who make shoes here in the states are craftsmen who make western style boots. Other than that it's pretty much a lost art.

I knew a guy in Texas who made western style hats. He used to say he was a dying breed. and he's right most of the real craftsmen and women are dying out. Soon there will be none left and everything will be made in factories. It's really sad.

I agree. I'm trying some new stuff my self, more craft oriented. I'm trying to work in bone and maybe some hardwood later on. Not sure how it's going to work out.
