It's not so much that I think love will always end in heartbreak... although it certainly can. It's more that I know when you're passionate about someone, pain is the flipside of the coin always ready to show itself when you can't be near them, when they've betrayed or hurt you, even when you're with them and you can't express the extent of your feelings.(c)Nintendo/Intelligent

Um... yes. But I've seen worse things happen to others. Ultimately though I am an idealist and very lucky. I think if you maintain hope and an open mind, things will work out in the end, and they finally have for me.
Still, love can induce a lot of pain before you get where you should be. Like I was saying to Eclipse above, whether your heart is smashed through a breakup or stretched to discomfort by longing, pain is just part of passion.
