just my first attempt at a tutorial.... can't say I like making em... but hopefully this will help ppl out
just a simple way to make grass using maya fur... I will post a poly version in a while.. so relax if u don't have fur

not using this tutorial thats for sure. but if you wanted.. I suppose you could render some grass to a flat plane and with alphas of that make a field grass that you can use on poly meshs.

Uhm, I'm using maya 2009, and can't really locate the "Grass Button" which you speak of in the tutorial ;/
The applyFurPreset Grass command did work tho, but the grass wasn't much to cheer for..

.. I did find some options for the grass and added multiple grass "objects" to make looking less like the top of some bald guys head.. but I guess there's some way to make it more intenseish by pulling some slider or some such?
Sorry for bringing up this good ol' tutorial with some annoying questions..

Oh.. nevermind, when rendered it looks awesome.. just looks like a baldguys head in the viewport.. so.. nevermind my comments, I'll just.. slip back into maya.. ;D
