October - the month that starts with summer and closes with winter. In between, we can experience wonderfully quiet moments, when the sun, becoming weaker from day to day, still manages to wake up those little beauties that finally illuminate the dying garden. Such as these flowers of Crocus goulimyi, from Greece.

Beautiful! I never knew crocuses bloom in spring and fall. I saw a bunch this past fall and could not figure out why they were blooming.

No, I used a standard lens but I tried to get as much sunlight as possible, softened by diffuse reflection.

Most people only know the spring crocusses but in fact, they can flower from September to April, depending on the species. So you can have crocus flowers even around Christmas, if the climate isn't too harsh in your area!
