so Doc Ock's mind has taken over not just Spider-Boy, but all of New York. becoming a superior colony.

Spider-Man tells Anna Maria that this sort of thing happened before during spider Island, and he used doc Ock's mind helmet to the mutant spider monsters.

so basically, people getting bit by spiders getting spider powers and being turned into mutant monsters Is Spider island, this is a relapse but instead of turning into spider monsters. people are getting bitten by spiders and become part of the extension mind of Doctor octopus.

so to put it simply... Spider-Octopus Island
