A few years ago, Hop Pop went on a journey, and some monster birds attacked Wartwood while he was gone. Sprig and Polly survived. But not their parents. And Hop Pop blamed himself for their deaths. And since then, he tried to protect his family and tries not to screw up. When he found out the box was dangerous, he lied to Anne cause he thought he was protecting his family. But he failed Anne... Because she is also family.
