In the final episode of the lion guard, Kion becomes king of the nightpride. And we see his family. Kiara is with Kovu, so my guess is while Kion and his lion guard was gone, the events of Lion King 2: Simba's pride happened. So i guess Lion Guard really is canon in the Lion king timeline.Related content

It can be, yes. IΒ accept it as its own universe, myself. People are free to choose whether to accept it as canon or not. I just enjoyed it for new lion king content. Even if it was nothing similar to the original and its sequel. Although, the closing episode for S3 gave me the closure and Simba's Pride feels I so desperately wanted.Β

With How To Train Your Dragon's Race To The Edge for example, which was supposed to be in between the first two films, it had major pacing problems and plot holes and didn't stitch well to the first two films. IDK how to feel about TLG being stitched together between the first two films. The final episode was perfect, gave SP vibes and closure. But at the same time, I have a hard time believing a lion can be the Avatar.Β

No, Kiara will be Queen of the Pride Lands, Kion is the King of the Night Pride, dumbass, the director confirmed that it is canon, and is an explanation why Kion was not in Lion King 2.
