Description
this is for my friend Redbat132 's story. Fortissimo Therapy Chapter 2Techno-Tune was only a few blocks away from where his target was. He wanted to double-check that who he was after was really inside the building. To do that without rushing in, Techno activated a small hover drone the size of a bug with a camera to go look around inside. He can see the action inside his helmet on whatever his drone sees. The sound was at a minimum for safety precautions. "Soon, I will have my revenge on the one person who thwarted my scheme," A voice said, as this person was practicing its voice. The boy noticed a silhouette inside where it looked like the figure was warming up vocals. Carefully, he had the drone fly forward without getting caught. Techno stared until verifying that this was absolutely the man he was looking for. "Gotcha," Techno-Tune muttered, having his drone stay on position around the upper walls to continue watching while he got up. "You're mine now, you talentless fraud." "Not so fast, kid!" A familiar voice said. Techno-Tune looks behind and sees Guy Gardner still breathing and gripping the kid's shoulder. "You again?! Ugh, this is worse timing here!" Techno-Tune exclaimed in frustration, smacking the hand away from his shoulder. "I already told you that I'm in the middle of an important mission here! I don't need you ruining my chances of making him pay!" Guy sees the figure on the high-tech wristbands with the camera feature still on and remembers him all too well. "You want to get back at the Music Meister?" He asked. The Green Lantern remembered how that musical villain made him and everyone else sing about how Batman is better than everyone. "Seriously?" , "Yes! He's the hack who took advantage of me and left me for dead!" Techno-Tune yelled at Guy. "I spent a long time preparing for this fight and I'm going to finish it!" "Honestly... I don't blame you. He has made everyone, including me, sing out of our control." Guy said. "But that doesn't excuse your actions in getting here. Beating up those guys at the docks and then attacking me? You could've just explained yourself." , "I didn't have time for explaining anything! Besides, even if some miracle that I did, who's going to believe me?!" Techno-Tune remarked. "Those fishermen only cared about some bogus bounty on me just to get a few cheap bucks that's most likely a scam made by the same guy I'm trying to take down!" "Bounty?" Guy asked. "But you're just a kid." "Yeah. A kid who poses as a threat to Music Meister for good reasons," Techno-Tune stated, folding his arms. "Once word got out that I was still alive, he sent a bounty on my head that's mostly fake so someone can do the job for him instead of his lazy self." Guy rolled his eyes and took a deep breath. "Okay, kid, listen...as much as I am curious about how much you're worth, I will admit that it is wrong for what Music Meister did to you." He explained. "But, if you're willing to give it a try, I'll help you take him down. But we do it for justice, not for vengeance." Techno-Tune didn't seem convinced nor looked like he trusted the Green Lantern. "I'm not sure if you forgot, but I still have your little ring to keep you from doing anything." "Oh, you mean this?" Guy showed his hand, and his power ring was back in it. Techno-Tune saw that he didn't had it in his pocket anymore. He was very confused on how Guy took it back. "Wait a sec...Wha-What in Pied Piper's flute?! How did you do that?" Techno-Tune asked, equally shocked while verifying his own pockets to realize he doesn't have the ring anymore and it's the same one. "Simple. I can just summon it back into my hand, and it just pops," Guy said. "So, I took advantage while you were explaining your hatred for Meister. Why did you think I rolled my eyes?" The young DJ-Violinist groaned while facepalming on that move. "Ugh! All right! Let's say if I did agree in your terms. Music Meister can still leave you in a musical trance and make you fight me. You won't stand a chance and only slow me down." "True, but I can just cover myself in a sound proof bubble I can make with my ring." Guy replied. "By the way, how come your little buddies aren't joining in?" "There's a reason why I didn't involve the Gotham Grimtales on this mission," Techno-Tune remarked, placing a pointed index finger on Guy's chest while not leaving his heavy glare. "I wasn't going to risk the only people I give a dang good care about getting killed. Whether in his hands or mine. This mission has always been personal for me. I'm not going to stand around and let that music stealing thief use people as his mindless dancing puppets that are going to get cast aside like yesterday's garbage the way he did to me." "Huh...Ya know, for someone impersonating a c-list supervillain, you seem to have morals." Guy commented. "Kinda makes you like a good guy." "Just because I'm a next generation villain in training, that doesn't mean I enjoy hurting people nor let it happen for fun...well, depending on who they are," Techno-Tune said, slightly offended by that remark. "Besides, we all agreed not to go too far until we're adults. And for the record, I'm not impersonating any villain here. I forge my own path of righteous music playing. So don't think I'm anywhere near being a complete Goodie Puss in Boots or anything like that." "Whatever you say." Guy remarked. Sighing, Techno-Tune grabbed something from his pockets and threw them to Guy Gardner for him to catch. "I was going to save them for when confronting Music Meister, but you may need these more than me if you're going to tag along. Plus, I doubt they go with my suit...unless I really want them to." Guy looked in his hands to see they were wireless white portable earbuds with slight green highlights. "Earbuds? Well, the green does go well with my suit." He said, putting them on. "But wait...what about you?" "Don't worry about me. I can take care of Music Meister without them," Techno-Tune assured, looking back at where his target is. "I never needed them anyway." "Since you have a vendetta against him, then maybe you can tell me why?" Guy suggested. "What happened that made him ruined your life?" "Well...like I said before; Music Meister took advantage of me. But I never mentioned the fact that he tried to hypnotize me through his mind controlling vocals into doing what he said...nor that it later involved me almost committing suicide," Techno-Tune stated. "There's a good reason why he saw me as a threat...even though I used to help him willingly. But I don't have to tell you all the details." "Mind controlling you to kill yourself?" Guy asked, seriously appalled by this news. "That's....That's too far, even for him!" Guy then pound his fist to his hand and cracked his knuckles. "Oh, we are so gonna teach him a lesson." "Agreed. Now that I have you part of this, what's our best plan here?" Techno-Tune questioned. "How's about we use the element of surprise? You go in there, confront Music Meister, and then you give a signal to me to rush in." Guy suggested. The young DJ-Violinist gave it some thought before nodding his head. "All right. Let's give it a shot." So, yeah. I'm teaming up with a Green Lantern hero in taking down the Music Meister. Not the first Lantern team-up I made before. At least, not as fun as meeting a Double Lantern girl to work with in stopping Mirror Master. Another long story to tell. , For now, we get into the final showdown. So hold on to your electronic devices, everyone! It's going to rock hard!, Inside the building, the Music Meister was preparing for his latest scheme to get revenge on Batman. But then, he heard nasty banging at the front door. "What is this?" He asked. The front door was blasted off with a strong soundwave from a certain electric violin that practically startled the corrupted conductor. Clearing out the small smoke of the explosion, the DJ-Violinist came out with his game face on and instrumental weapons close in his hands. "Knock-knock, Darius Chapel...Or should I go by your so-called infamous name Music Meister?" Techno-Tune responded, keeping cool yet sounding mad. "It doesn't matter. You made a musical monster...and I've found my way back to you." "Well, well, well. If it isn't my old partner. How's it going, Sanders?" Music Meister asked. "You're still mad at me for what happened last time, aren't you?" "Oh, you still remember my real name? I figured you've forgotten after stabbing me in the back," Techno-Tune remarked, his cold stare not leaving his opponent. "After everything I did to help you make the biggest heist of the century that went global, you tried to get rid of me with zero credit on the work! You couldn't have done that little satellite change without my help! I don't know if it was because you didn't want to admit to having help from a twelve-year-old or because of my condition that's made me completely immune to your powers!" , "Ah, so you are still mad about that," Music Meister stated. "Well, unfortunately, that scheme may have worked, if it weren't for that meddlesome Batman. But yes, I had no idea of your little 'condition', which makes you a discarded asset. You left me no choice!" "Typical Music Meister! Always with that excuse on everyone whether under your spell or not! I already know about the bounty that YOU put up in letting others do your dirty work...again!" Techno-Tune argued, his hand gripping on his violin stick while pointing it at Music Meister. "You couldn't stand the fact of some other villain musician being better than you! Even when I told you how much I looked up to you so much that I left Central City just to meet and have you as my mentor! You could have chosen to accept me as an equal! You could have had a promising partner on your side! Instead, you chose to use my talents for your own and attempt to kill me! You stole my work...and I've come to get it back." "And how are you going to stop me? Music Meister asked. "You're just a kid. I can easily get rid of you before I exact my revenge on Batman." "You shouldn't underestimate me for my age. I'm not the same twelve-year-old you last met three years ago," Techno-Tune stated, a smirk firming behind his helmet. "This time, I've come prepared. And a new teammate to show you the light of your envy!" On cue, the wall blew up, and Guy appeared from the smoke. "Hello, Music Meister. I heard a lot about you." "Green Lantern?" Music Meister asked. He then started laughing. "You sunk so low, even for a rookie villain, Techno-Tune. Teaming up with a superhero, let alone a jock like that idiot. That was your plan? I can control him like all the others last time with my vocals." "You may have controlled him before, but not this time," Techno-Tune said, his violin and bow ready to play. "You won't have any puppets to control here when it's only the three of us. It's only you, me, and Guy Gardner on this fight." "You wanna put that to the test, boy?" Music Meister asked with a smug glare. He started singing like an Opera singer. "Awwww-awwww-awwwww!" Guy, with his arms crossed, smirked with a half smile. "What?" Music Meister sees Guy wasn't singing, dancing, nor under his control. "Impossible! No one can resist my singing! Other than Batman...and the brat I dropped as dead weight. How is this happening?!" "Why don't you ask... Techno-Tune, was it?" Guy suggested. The DJ-Violinist couldn't help but chuckle in amusement, after nodding to Guy on his name right. "I had a feeling that you wouldn't resist controlling the next person you'd come across to use in fighting for your battles. Especially if it's a hero like Guy. So, I gave him my tech that cancels out your hypnotic singing. The way I always hear you...which is nothing at all." "This can't be happening!" Music Meister exclaimed, as he then grabbed his cane. "I will not be beaten by you or that stupid excuse of a Green Lantern!" He then tries to hit Techno-Tune with his cane. The young boy dodged the swing hits from his opponent. When an opening showed, Techno-Tune played his violin to fire a large musical note construct that knocked Music Meister back. The boy jumped near the Lantern and they kept their weapons/guard up. "Is that really all you got?" Guy asked. "Not by a long shot." Music Meister said, holding a mysterious remote control. Techno-Tune noticed the remote where his visor eyes widen. "Guy...whatever is about to happen next, I'm going to need your permission," he responded very seriously. "That depends what you have in mind. But it better not what he tried to do," Guy replied with hesitation. "I won't do what he does. That I promise you," Techno-Tune stated, not leaving his sights on the Music Meister. "Like I said before, I follow my own path. I understand that we just met, but I'm going to need you to trust me enough on what I have planned if my suspicions are correct involving this hack's upcoming move." Just then, the ground around Guy, Techno-Tune, and Music Meister shook. Loud thuds can be heard, and then, a chunk of the building's ceiling was destroyed, as a giant metal hand moves down and picks up Music Meister. Guy and Techno-Tune see the metal hand being part of what appears to be a giant mechanized robot that appears to resemble the Music Meister himself.“Aw, great,” Guy deadpanned, charging his ring ready to fight. To Be Continued... Fortissimo Therapy Chapter 3"Behold my latest creation...The Music Mech~!" Music Meister sings, "This mech will help amplify my hypnotic singing; and will act as a beacon to all corners of the universe to do my bidding. If Batman defeated me before, He can't handle my universal army ten-four. It is the perfect for my vengeance, And will end up being Batman's penance~!" Around the performance, Guy and Techno-Tune were already moving out of the way from getting squashed by Music Meister’s giant robot."It’s a good thing I'm not singing," Guy said. "Yeah. My earbuds work way better than the Dark Knight's earplugs," Techno-Tune stated. "More durable and won't be taken off by anyone other than the user. Back on topic, we got to stop Music Meister's new toy now!" Guy then formed a green bubble around Techno-Tune so they could float in the air and see the Music Mech from a better view. "So, unlike a satellite, Music Meister is going to broadcast his singing to control everyone in the universe?" Guy asked. "That seems impossible. The world I can understand, but the universe?" "Yeah...Meister always wanted to think big. Start from a town, then the earth, and finally the universe as his musical kingdom," Techno-Tune stated, rubbing the back of his helmet head. "If the satellite plan ever went south, which it did, then he'd move on to more drastic measures here. And it's a giant robot of himself. I always knew he had an ego problem as bad as that Booster Gold guy or Captain Atom." "You two are the prime suspects in my way, so to fulfill my vengeance, why don't we have our time to play~?!" Music Meister sings and then big music notes start bursting out the Music Mech's mouth, like an energy beam that almost hits Guy and Techno-Tune. Fortunately, Guy flew out of the notes away and it hits a nearby building, crushing it. "HEY! Those are my digital music note construct hits!" Techno-Tune yelled, not having it. "Oh, he's going to get a lawsuit when we're done with him!" Guy said, as he landed Techno-Tune at a near rooftop. "It's worse than that. The whole robot kaiju and music firing designs were all ideas of mine that I thought were destroyed after being betrayed," Techno-Tune stated, his glared visor face looking at Music Meister. "How and where the harp did you get them?!" "Why, it is quite simple my little friend." Music Meister said normally before singing again. "After our departure, I came across the ideas you pitched to me, Some I rejected, and some where I was intrigued. After Batman thwarted my plans, your giant robot idea was now in my hands. So, buying my time, I collected, salvaged, and stole enough green to finalize what's mine! But I knew you were coming a mile away. Now, I can finish what I started when I found you as a stray~!" More music notes shoot out and Guy shoots them with his power ring. "All right, kid. If you got any ideas on how to stop it, now would be a good time to use them!" Guy responded, still defending himself and his little partner. "I'm thinking!" Techno-Tune shouted, trying to formulate a plan in his head. "Okay...Since Music Meister used my old blueprints to make this giant mech, then he must have also built an energy core that's powering it up. Either around the heart at the robot's armored chest or the brain located in its head." "So we just have to cut through either option," Guy suggested. "Not only that but in every single one of my designs, I keep a unique failsafe code in the programming to deactivate beyond dangerous stunts like this," Tecno-Tune quietly muttered to Guy. "We need to get very close. And to do that...I'm still going to need your full permission for what I got in store." Guy gave a suspicious gleam at Techno-Tune. "How do I know you won't do anything to me, like take advantage of me or something?" "I already explained before that I won't," Techno-Tune remarked. "Now are you going to keep arguing or do you want to be a hero and save this city?!" "All right, fine!" Guy replied. "I'll follow your lead this time." Nodding, Techno-Tune started tapping on some buttons on his bands with electric screens. He hit a 'pair' button and set it to 20-30% on control. Along with picking a file on moves to upload before playing his violin song of choice. "All right...Time to mute this maestro," Techno-Tune responded a smirk showing behind his helmet. "Good. Let's do this," Guy said, as he flew up. "If your done mumbling your little attempt to stop me, then stand still carefully while I smite thee!~" Music Meister sang, as his Music Mech started shooting more of his musical notes. The two of them kept dodging and hitting back. Guy used his ring to blast them while Techno played his violin to counterattack the music notes. "Guy! Construct me some better equipment for a one-on-one music battle!" Techno-Tune exclaimed, spinning his violin bow. "You got it!" Guy uses the extent of his power ring's green energy and creates a massive construct of what appears to be some kind of base machine, like in one of those DJ dubstep stages. "You're up, Techno-Tune." Music Meister sees Techno-Tune on the center stage of the construct and laughs. "~You have been a thorn in my side for too long, now heed any last words as you hear my final soooooonnngggg!~" he sings. "We'll see about that!" Techno-Tune remarked, as he started playing one of his favorite battle-ready songs and strummed his violin. "Time to show Gotham who's the real musical genius in this town!" , Techno-Tune played his violin with the full passion of his heart. It started off warming up. But his violin power was being combined with the green construct energy. Guy, holding the construct, noticed the purple musical energy combining. The music was starting to build up, getting louder, and the music chorus starts singing, and the music got louder. "~LEGENDS NEVER DIE! WHEN THE WORLD IS CALLING YOU! CAN YOU HEAR THEM SCREAMING OUT YOUR NAME? LEGENDS NEVER DIE! THEY BECOME A PART OF YOU, EVERY TIME YOU BLEED FOR REACHING GREATNESS, LEGENDS NEVER DIE!~" The loud music and the chorus were booming! Giant musical notes popped out of the base construct and blasted towards the Music Mech, hitting it with full might. "It's working!" Guy said. "Woohoo! Yeah, it is!" Techno shouted, not having any doubt while still playing. Music Meister also felt the impact of Techno-Tune's musical notes blast combined with the Green Lantern energy. "No, this can't be happening. Not this time!" He started singing in unison and tried blasting more musical notes, but it wasn't working. The mech wasn't responding. It's almost like the blast has nullified its mechanics. "Why is this happening?" Around playing his song, Techno-Tune was activating the failsafe code to deactivate the Mech that's slowly creeping up to 100%. "I'm near the halfway point to shutting the Meister's toy down! I just got to complete this song to work!" he shouted to Guy. "Then, let's kick it up a notch!" Guy said. He used his power ring to levitate Techno-Tune and the giant bass construct in the air as the second chorus was about to sing, and Techno-Tune played his violin really hard and very loud. "~... Oh, pick yourself up cause... LEGENDS NEVER DIE!" The purple musical notes beam was blasted at the Music Mech again, and Guy moved the construct around hitting every corner of the giant robot mech. The beam was so loud and powerful that one of the Music Mech's mechanical arms broke off and shredded into pieces. "~LEGENDS NEVER DIE! THEY BECOME A PART OF YOU, EVERY TIME YOU BLEED FOR REACHING GREATNESS, LEGENDS NEVER DIE!~"Music Meister, with his ears covered, grew angry, and then slammed a button that activated backup power. Guy noticed a glow coming from the chest piece of the mech. Techno-Tune's blast got through, so far. However, to his and Techno-Tune's shock, the Music Mech blasted Techno-Tune's helmet, breaking the visor."KID!" Guy yelled, as he placed the massive base stage construct on top of the tallest building that rivals the height of the Music Mech. The song was still playing, though."Bullseye!" Music Meister yelled. "And now my musical rival, it's time for you to end your arrival!~" His music note was blasted, and Guy, struggling to hold the contract together, could only evade.Around getting up, Techno-Tune's real face was slightly revealed with the front cracked. His helmet was damaged! He had dark brown skin, light brown eyes, and black crew-cut hairstyle with beam note prints on the side. The poor boy seemed confused and slightly spaced out from playing.Despite having no complete helmet protection, he appeared fine. Not even under Music Meister's spell in singing, dancing, or anything. Much to the Green Lantern's surprise."Wait, what?" Guy asked although he couldn't pay attention because he was still focusing on the construct. "Kid, hurry! The last chorus is coming!"Things just went good from very bad. My helmet could no longer function for me. Not as protection, but the fact that I could not hear anything...because I'm deaf. The main reason why Music Meister saw me as a threat. And with my advanced hearing aids in Guy's position instead of my own for emergencies like this, it seemed like I couldn't play at all. But I said before that I spent three years preparing for my fight with Music Meister and I meant every word. Especially for something like this.Techno-Tune couldn't hear Guy, but he was still on the stage and played the violin as if he knew that the last chorus was already coming without Guy telling him. The final chorus played and Techno-Tune played his violin to the maximum. Although, to him, he could not hear anything. But, to everyone else, they can hear the last chorus playing. The thing about practicing a lot with a song? You don't need to hear that you've hit the notes perfectly. I relied on my other senses to tell me what needs to be played. From touching the strings on my fingers to feeling the vibrations coming from the speakers coursing through me. I may not be able to hear, but that doesn't stop me from being a great musician. I. Am. Techno-Tune!"~Pick yourself up once more, pick yourself up cause... LEGENDS NEVER DIE! WHEN THE WORLD IS CALLING YOU! CAN YOU HEAR THEM SCREAMING OUT YOUR NAME?LEGENDS NEVER DIE! THEY BECOME A PART OF YOU, EVERY TIME YOU BLEED FOR REACHING GREATNESS, LEGENDS NEVER DIE!~"After finishing the song, Techno's bracelets revealed that he has 100% deactivated the Mech using the failsafe code."Nooooooooooooo!" Music Meister screamed, as the Music Mech's power source in the chest was shattered. The mic was being blown to pieces and the Music Meister fell from the robot, as it crumbles to pieces where the song dies down. The DJ-Violinist breathed heavily in exhaustion before dropping his violin and trembling to the ground on his knees...even took off the damage helmet from obscuring his view. "...GUY!...DID WE DO IT?! DID WE KICK MUSIC MEISTER'S BASS CLEF!?""Hey, you don't have to scream," Guy said, as he vanished the construct. "But yeah! We did it! We beaten Music Meister. And...not bad. We make a pretty good team."Techno gave a weak smile while giving a thumbs up. Although not understanding a word Guy is saying, he can tell from the hero's face that they won.The Green Lantern couldn't help but wonder why this rookie villain in training is not saying anything like before. He then noticed the broken helmet on the ground and thought back on what happened earlier."Wait...you can't hear me?" Guy asked, pointing at the kid and then his own ear to understand just in case. After seeing that, Techno-Tune shook his head in reply before giving a sad expression. That's when Guy realized the truth. He then started using his hands. “You're deaf?” he asked with his hands. He was using sign language. The young boy blinked in surprise. “Yes...You, of all heroes, know sign language?” he questioned while using his hands, too.“Of course, I'm fluid in it.” Guy signed back with his hands. He then took off the earbuds and realized what they were, and then non-communicated again. “These earbuds were built to help you hear?”"That's right. They were my backup hearing aids incase my helmet broke...which it did,” Techno admitted, looking embarrassed. “But you needed them to protect yourself more than me, seeing that you wanted to help. Speaking of help, I never pictured you as someone who knows sign language so well. Took weeks or months for my friends to learn it.”"Well, no one knows about this, because I didn't want them to know I have a soft side. I've always been supportive of children, as a social worker and a special needs educator for kids like you. I help them cope and find ways they can fit in since they are different,” Guy explained via sign language. The DJ-Violinist felt speechless. He had no clue someone like Guy Gardner would have such a good-hearted side. It made Techno realize that they had a lot more in common than he expected.Around feeling distracted, Techno didn't realize that Guy was putting the kid's earbuds back on his ears until hearing the sound again."There. Can you hear me now?" Guy asked out loud."Y-Yeah...I hear you just fine," Techno responded, still at a loss of words. "Look, Guy...? I didn't want people to know about what I had. There were moments where I felt ashamed about it, but there are other moments where it has proven to be a big help. It's why I wanted to face Music Meister after three years. To show him that just because I have a hearing problem, it doesn't make me weak or any less of a musical artist. Guess you were looking out for me the way any caring adult would.""Thanks, kid," Guy replied. "Listen, sometimes the world is full of adults that are corrupted, bad, and would easily take advantage of those who are weak," He then placed his hand on Techno-Tune's shoulder. "But that doesn't mean all adults are bad. There are good people out there that can trust you. You just gotta let them understand and trust you. The world is not always black and white.""I know, Guy. It's why I have the Gotham Grimtales," Techno-Tune stated. "And I have met other adults who are not like Music Meister. Including my first mentor. He's the reason why I'm able to hear. Still...after everything...thanks for having my back."Without warning, the DJ-Violinist surprised the Green Lantern with an immediate hug. Although a bit off guard, Guy just short-laughed it off."Anytime, Techno. Anytime." Guy replied, patting Techno-Tune's back while embracing the hug. "Now, we should probably check on Music Meister. He's probably suffocating underneath all that metal rubble."The young DJ-Violinist got out of the hug and looked at Guy from that. "Oh...right. I nearly forgot about him. I hope he's unconscious.""Why would you say that? You think he's dead?" Guy asked, raising an eyebrow."No, I mean, if he's still conscious, then I'm worried that he might sing his way out to escape again!" Techno-Tune remarked, grabbing his gear and running. "We got to silence Music Meister before he opens his mesmerizing melody mouth for anyone to hear him!""Yeah, that's a good point." Guy said, as he forms a bubble around Techno-Tune. "Hold on tight." he then flies down to the streets. To Be Concluded...This is the Music Meister's giant robot. The Music Mech. He ripped off Techno-Tune's idea for taking over the world.
