Because they are half Doomsday. On his own, Doomsday can curb-stomp the entire Justice League, and even Superman could barely stand up to him (he had to literally twist his neck to kill him). Now imagine Doomsday multiplied by thousands that noone saw coming, like alvaxerox said. And the new Parademons are worse than the originals. You really think the League could stand up to a force like that, and not suffer or die? Darkseid was wise not to abandon Doomsday's potential, and you've seen the end result of his foresight for mixing his demons with an adaptive monster that gets stronger as time goes on.

HAH! They couldn't even if they wanted to: since they're half parademon, it means they are unquestionably loyal to him. They are his weapons of conquest and death, and have been bred, programmed, and built to know this. Darkseid is lord, and Darkseid is supreme. Besides, if he doesn't just vaporize them with the omega effect at full power, then he probably has other contingencies in place if his monsters ever dare turn on him. But he always ensure all of his subjects remember their place beneath him.
