Have you ever considered producing something like an Opal Triplet but with your image in place of the thin layer of opal? I don't know if there is a cement that would glue it without damaging the oil painting, but if there is it would last forever. I can think of a few other similar techniques that might last longer than laquer. But these are all gorgeous. You're ability to work in as fine detail as you do is a priceless talent.

I glanced at this in passing, because my grandmother used to find and tumble-polish agates and polished stone looks like a pleasant memory to me. Here I am back again (did you know it's easier to search DA by going through an external search engine?) because it stayed on my mind. Now I see the way the piece was done and I am simply in awe. I'd tempt you to try a replica Firefrost (ref Alan Garner), but I suppose internal fire wouldn't be technically possible.
I hope your talent is rewarded as it deserves to be, and thank you for putting the photos out where the less pecunious can see!

Reminds me of the dragon guarding the Golden Fleece to protect the border of Camp Half-Blood. Hehe.

I do too. He barely had any dialogue in the parts he was in. I completely forgot his name... Heh.
