CHIU-STREAM was kind enough to have me on the show for an in-depth interview last week and in case you missed it the sketch challenge for all the viewers was to, “Create your own Fighting Game Character”! [link] This was a welcome challenge for me as I have many ideas for characters for my own vision of the SF Universe!One of these is Mr. Boogaloo from the NYC Brooklyn Breakers; he’s the young phenom of a legendary breaking crew from the streets of Brooklyn and possesses the illest up-rocking skills anyone has ever seen. His many styles, which include tutting, footwork, spins and freezes are so elusive that some call his fighting style reminiscent of a urban, “Drunken Kung-fu”. Already a street and Youtube legend, he’s ready to take his unique set of skills to a larger stage. This character also happens to be inspired by some of my favorite dancers, including Mr.Wave, Wigglez, Elsewhere, KB from the JABBAWOCKEEZ and shouts to my fellow artist Lando “Bang Jenkins” Wilkins from the BOXCUTTUHZ! Keep rockin’ it, dudes!

I can imagine his special moves and combos connecting one after another. He can be the only one who execute infinite combos and extreme air juggles for SSF4 and 5. His Rival would be Dee Jay. His fighting stage is in a brooklyn basketball court with a huge crowd cheering. The bgm is breakdancing with a asian kick...This just inspired me!!! Alvin, I might be getting carried away, but Capcom is still working on Super Street Fighter 4. You can pitch your character to Ono and Ikeno and see if he's interested in another unique character. I'm pretty sure some fans (including myself) are tired of seeing the same old SF characters. To some extent, that's how games get dull. It would be great!

really great drawing. the flow and gestures and the whole movement of the character are strong, and it gives this feeling of bboy-mime.
it'd be cool to challenge him to a break battle, if he's up for it.

nice! this would be a perfect add to a sf3 type. its funny when i draw and listen to some beats, i always imagine a character like this in the sf universe. i mean, when you have these kind of moves.. welcome to the fight.

Ha, Jabbawockeez for sure man--- awesome Dance crew, and an original concept with the masks.
the last break-dancing Popping character was probably "DUCK-king" from SNK's Fatal Fury series..
He wasnt a very good Character design at all, then again, most of the kids on here probably dont know who he is...
A B-Boy from capcom would definately work as You mentioned the possibilities would be endless with the vast array of trick moves.

alsome defiantly has that new yorker feel. only problem you might have with this character is his similarity with jax from mortal kombat. but aside from that i think he badass.

I love this character! He'd fit into SF very well. I instantly pictured the way he moves and his special attacks. Come to think of it, I'm surprised there hasn't been a b-boy in a SF game yet.
