As promised here's the DIGITAL COLORS to the second piece of the Hatsune Miku + Corolla Campaign! [link]Thought I'd post this in light of Hatsune's North American Debut performance at Anime Expo (in LA) this Saturday!

In spite of the mixed reviews for this piece, I'm going to stand by my man Doe! [link] The guy totally blew me away with these colors and more importantly the client was also equally as impressed!
**Note** this image was based from Tony Taka's illustration, I was basically requested to redraw it in a more "mature" style, so consider this as an homage or a remix of the original.

I think hard core miku fans who don't like your work...just don't realize that they can't even reach your level so meh. It's a wonderful piece, I just wish I had a graphic tablet to actually color the line art Q.Q! They're always gonna be haters, I wish I could beat em all to death =X!

had to say the pencil 1 looks better than the colored
guess lurking on sankaku complex really altered my mind, i say manly it is, but when i see the pencil work, it really is a remix version
the colored is not as good

It's a very nice, and rather different rendition of Miku. I can say that I like it, up to point of minor details. Not trying to be a Miku-nazi here or anything, but I'm not too fond of the way your drew the hair accessories. But over all it's a very good drawing and the colors are awesome and accurate. I like how it's more of a human or "American" view of Miku. Aside from the minor details (and my OCD of Miku lol) it's a great Miku drawing and it's fantastic how it got to be with the Corolla campaign for Hatsune Miku.

sorry, it's a monster. I'm no expert, but looking at the face gives creeps - mouth and nose form and angle doesn't suit the angle and width of the face itself, especially the left (smaller) part. Horizontally-oval lifeless pupils look in different directions.
Macho mikenstein. I'm no hater (really), but no, thanks, i'll pass on this one.

I can understand you not liking the piece, but to call this man's work "a monster" is just totally uncalled for.
You could just added your critiques without the unneeded insults. You DO seem like a hater because of that.

forgot again a couple of things:
1. necktie is too long
2. long time ago in a galaxy far, far away there were a lot of complaints to that pose in Tony's art, mainly because it requires broken spine.

sorry, but i really think that way. I prefer Zain's realistic Miku (see in his da/pixiv).
My (and, afaik, others') complains are not about the art/artist, but about portraying an established character for an official campaign. The fans see the result and can't prove who had what idea and who did what. That art is very far from 50 GB of mp3's on my hdd.
Maybe i shouldn't post this at all, but i'm not the only one with that opinion and da's comments are full of love of ppl who doubtly listen to vocaloid music.

FYI, Miku has no established canon/personality/whatever. She can be whatever you want her to be.
Just compare her 'personalities' in different songs, from stuff like Melt to Love is War, to songs like Rotten Girl Grotesque Romance and Circle You. 
Really, I would understand if this was an anime character with a set canon, but this is a vocal synthesizer with no "absolutely true" canon.
Sorry if I sound mean, but, gah! I wonder why it's so hard for 'Vocaloid fans' to understand this. @_@;;

Well, you said it: Miku deviations are usually paired with songs and make a solid imaginable symbol, an image.
T used WiM for T+M campaign (and others from a song set of 39'10), and that ^ Miku needs a completely different voice to sing anything from that set, that's why it's out of "suspension of disbelief". As an abstract Vocaloid-related art it may be ok, but for that campaign it's totally repulsive for me.

Still, kinda wish the hate against the Toyota campaign wasn't outright RAGE hate, but more like... I dunno, something like respectful dislike? But ah well, I suppose I can't really do anything about it, so why bother. :/

That's a complete contradiction.
Besides, if you prefer Zain's Miku good for you, but it's not like *alvinlee doesn't already have 500 other people bashing/complaining about his artwork. It's a couple Miku pictures drawn by ONE artist. There's TONS of other Miku artwork on the internet. Go look at those.
Plus, if you had read any of *alvinlee comments you'd know that he was following his clients instructions when he drew this Miku.
In short:
1. The necktie is too long because his client WANTED it to be that long.
2. The pose is similar because his client WANTED it to be.
People are beating this "I don't like this Miku" horse to freakin' death. Let it go.
