"Barb.....I wanted to bring up what happened last weekend," Phil said, meeting her eyes. "In the car...."

Barb blinked for a moment then it hit her, "Ah, you mean when I kissed you? What of it?" she asked.

Phil couldn't help but let out a soft laugh and shook his head. She said it like it was no big deal, but maybe to her, it wasn't something huge, but it did make him wonder if everything Victoria told him was true. Phil exhaled again and cleared his throat of any future laughs. "Yeah, I mean the kiss," he said. "I was....a little surprised. You don't kiss your friends do you?"

"No. I don't." she replied honestly, "The most I've ever done was kiss Victoria on the cheek but nothing more than that," she frowned a little and glanced to the side, "If I ever did that to Luci or Kat I would never hear the end of it." She then looked at him straight in the eyes, "But.....did my kiss bother you?" she asked, her voice suddenly softer.

There was silence as Phil watched Barb's demeanor change. He didn't want to make her feel like she did anything wrong but her answer was enough confirmation that what Victoria told him last weekend was true. "No, it didn't, but it made me think." Phil slides from his stool and stood up again, bringing his hands in the pockets of his jacket. "Barb....I'm not the most fun guy to be around. I'm not romantic, I'm not spontaneous, I'm a nerd that overthinks things to the point of no sleep. Some can only handle so much of me before labeling me a bore or not worth their time. I fear of trying new things and taking chances but someone made me realize I could be missing out on something great if I let the fear of the future keep me from taking a massive leap. My experience with relationships has not given me much hope for my future in them, obviously, but after this week I realize I want to try again......" Phil bit the inside of his cheek as he looked at Barb. "I really like you, Barb. I'm no prince charming, but I hope I'm enough for you to take a chance on me..... "

Barb stared at Phil, blinking for a moment in silence. She then blushed as she glanced down and tucked some hair behind her ear, "Well....I'm not exactly spontaneous either....at least not to the extent most other people are. I suppose I have my moments. I am a nerd too. Most people call me standoffish, aloof.....some people have even called me an ice cold bitch." She then looked at him, "I don't need you to be any prince charming or anything that you aren't. I didn't kiss you because of some idealized version of yourself. I kissed you because I like you, Phil Chez. The guy who shares some similar interests writes interesting books, whom I can speak plainly too and doesn't run off when I get too blunt." She then smiled softly, "You are enough Phil. And.....I am very happy to hear you like me and are willing to take a chance on me too."

Phil narrowed his eyes and smiled to himself after hearing Barb's words. He didn't realize how much they would affect him. He felt his heart ache in a good way and his stomach flutter. It might have taken a very small 'in the moment' action in the car and some wise words from an acquaintance to make him realize he did like Barb in that way, but he was happy for the push otherwise he might have taken much longer to realize. He looked back at Barb and stepped closer to her so he was only a foot away. "Will you go out with me, Barb, and take that leap of faith together?"

Barb looked up into his eyes then leaned forward, placing another quick kiss on his lips then pulled back a little so she could look into his eyes as she smiled, "I will."

Phil wasn't expecting the kiss, but he wasn't as stunned as before either. His cheeks flushed pink when she pulled back and answered him with a yes. He gave a soft laugh and smiled at her before hesitantly moving forward and placing a hand on her cheek. He caressed her cheek with his thumb before leaning forward and placing his lips on hers.

Recently in a RP my OC Phil, aka Henry's best friend, decided to take a huge risk and ask Barb out, aka Victoria's best friend. He hasn't had any hope in relationships since he's been divorced but when his new friend Barb kissed him goodnight (on the lips >.>) after a night out seeing a play and having dinner afterward, he was left confused. Was Barb just a passionate person or did she actually like him? After a quick talk with Victoria and spending a week figuring out what he wanted he decided he wanted to take the chance and try a romantic relationship again. Let's hope this one lasts last longer than the last.

I got a new ship, you guys!!!! I introduce the best friends of mine and Blade's other ship Henry x Victoria, who started hanging out after their friends' engagement party and got close. ^w^
