Description
This is the second remix of the goodbye series, the more realistic one that i've been showing progress shots of as i progressed. The earth in itself took 4hours to create, and making the moons terrain was a bitch of a task... but each are the best i've created in context. So yeah, more depth in this, gave it a deeper feeling, better planet and moon, less chaos and more structure. It may be less to somes liking, but i like the outcome. I hope you do too
So yeah, terragen and photoshop, mostly the latter. Just over 100 layers, a weeks work worth apprx 30 hours. This is 50% original size.
Prints coming soon.

I like this remix more. But I'm not sure what those bright spots on the left are for. And the dark area on the Earth, is that the shadow of the asteroid?

Wonderful job man, you can tell you put a lot of work into this one. I like the size of the MOON compared to the man. You can really see the scale of the image. The asteroids hitting the earth are very believable as well. Keep it up man, can't wait to see what you come up with next

well, i've been waiting since 7am this mornig for you to upload this... i've been trying to keep quiet about it all day!
the planet is absolutely amazing in this version... the attention to detail, realism and clarity of Earth just really does it for me.
Like you said, less destruction... i think that kinda loses it's impact of being really end of teh world stylee... but if you think about a meteor that size hitting earth, its damn straight game over, even if it's not on a mass uber-kill-everthing kind of level. So it still holds it there
The moon in hte foreground, the texture is phenomenal.. but i'm not sure on the actual area of the canvas it takes up ya know? Seems kind of odd in an 'existance' but it does make the rest of the image work well thanks to the area and shape it covers...
needless to say that i've had this as my wallpaper all day... (altho slightly resized!) and its definitly getting a thanks to the uber-earth

This is really amazing. I love the lone person on the asteroid. Now that you've said it, I can tell the asteroid is Terragen, but I wouldn't have known it before (which is to say you've done a very good job with it). The explosions are a bit toned down from the other one but more believable, I think. But the earth only has one moon...I suppose the others are just spheroid asteroids. Again, nice pic.

i don't know what country the asteroid is landing on, but i can say one thing about their situation: owned.

Not quite contrasty compared to the older ones but it still is a masterpiece. I like the letter-box style border, it kinda gives a artsy film kinda look. The details are excellent my friend.

I think there's something to be said for chaos... but this pic is nice too.

wow. this is absolutely wonderful. I love the size and layout.... and the explosion is incredible, but honestly much, much more believable. I really like the chunk of rock you've got flying off to it, and the fact that it seems like you can't see the main brunt of the explosions, which adds some mystery to it. please make this a print? *does puppy dog eyes on Alyn* I'll hang it in the hallway and make my rooomates worship it all day! ^^
