This pic was terribly grainy (big ISO and long time) and I used very brutal and laic method to improve it, don´t know if anybody uses it this way - simple bluring the grainy parts, whithout touching the edges, I know that it is extra-scientific
, but helped a lot to save the ruined picture.

Now I shoot only in RAW with my Canon 400D, but this photo is taken by Olympus ultrazoom and I shot in jpeg. It was eating my nerves how was this camera slow with RAW, so I didn´t use it.
But to be true, I am not very satisfied wit Canon 400D as for noise. I think it has TOO MOUCH noise any time I increase ISO more than 400 (sometimes even with 400!) and I really would love to have much better camera with much better sensor. I can imagine the pleasure from making low light photos and have absolutely smooth results, it must be fantastic! Nikon D90 would be a fabulous choice!

Yeah I'm definitely happy with the noise levels on the D90. It has the same sensor as cameras which are 2/3 times more expensive than it.
It would definitely not be a bad choice when you choose to upgrade

Super capture Betty, I like the effect from the high iso level, it gives the photo a type of sepia look around the edges. Very beautiful children

I think the grain and the application you used to suppress it worked wonderfully. This could be an accidental windfall in your favor. It has a unique definitive signature to it. Do more

To jsem ráda, protože tvé fotky jsou fakt super. A omlouvám se za zpožděné odpovědi, netrávím už na dA tolik času jako dřív a nestíhám odpovídat ani favoritovat natož sama fotit

Absolutně se nemusíš omlouvat, vím naprosto přesně o čem mluvíš a poslední dobou tohle dost řeším sama a pořád hledám nějaký systém, jak vyzrát na DA, aby mě to zcela nepohltilo a já měla taky čas i na něco jiného.
