experimenting on a way to add shadows in only one layer.and it looks-- in a way-- decent.. at least.
though i don't think it will fit in every deviation i do so ahaha.

one way i found to create shadows in on layer is to copy what ever it isΒ your trying to give shadow put it on another layer and fill the image with what ever color u are wanting to make your shadow and then distort to the position ofΒ the light source. if you need an example look at my lizrat

oh and one more thing mess with the feathering to get a darker center of the shadow and liter as it goes out
