This is a darker look at Shinigami Amadalia Moonsong.

She is alone in her room, looking at the scar on her back.
She got this scar long ago.. She was betrayed by the one person she trusted most.

The story of the scar.
Long ago Amadalia went by another name, but that time has passed. For the day she got that scar, was the day she became Amadalia.

This story begins in the world of the living. Where the one we now know as Amadalia lived with her three children and husband. Her life was a simple one, she lived happily. She would sit by the old tree and tell her children stories of the Moonsong. A hero, that protected all innocent people. She would tell this story every night when their father way away to keep them feeling safe.

Until the night she was betrayed.

Amadalia knew of the Soul Society and about Shinigami, because her husband and Sister were Shinigami themselves.

Her husband was a low ranking Shinigami in Squad 5, his duties would keep him away from home for weeks at a time.
Her sister was a higher ranked Shinigami in Squad 11. Amadalia did not see her sister often, but when she did, she worried. Her lust for power was insatiable.

When Amadalia tried to talk to her sister about the darker powers that were stirring in her. Her sister pushed her away. Amadalia did not see her sister again for years, kept for once…

One evening, Amadalia got a message from her sister to meet her in a nearby town. Once she got there, she waited but her sister never showed. The rain that night was so heavy; it took her so long to get home. She noticed the lights were off at the house, so she thought everyone was sleeping already. Little did she know something else more sinister had happened.

The front door was opened and there was glass on the floor. Amadalia rushed up stairs to find in her horror, her children slain. She fell to her knees. Her thought were chaos . “why would someone do this to her children? Where was her husband?”. She cried, she was shattered, her life was in ruins.

The sound of the door behind her slammed against the wall, making her turn her head,just as the murderer hit her in the back full force with her sword.

As she lay bleeding on the floor, her eyes starting to glaze over. She see’s only for a moment, her own sister standing there. Her eyes were cold, looking down at Amadalia on the ground. Her final thoughts were of betrayal.

This was not the end of Amadalia, just the woman she used to be.

For her soul was not dead. Only her body.

Her determination brought her to the Soul Society. Where she was found, still bearing the scar on her back. The scar that ruined her and created who she is now.

The scar, a contestant reminder of the betrayal from the hands of her own sister.

For now, her sister and her husband have been missing ever since that night.
Amadalia is determined to becoming stronger under the care of Squad Zero and it’s Captain Saya Miyabi. She is very focused, so one day she can find her sister and husband. And kill one or maybe both.
