Usual response to something that scares you is fight or flee. He is probably to well-trained to swing sword randomly. Time to panic will come if this thing is immune to mortal weapon.

Best I can tell Nae is some sort of mystic (possibly medium?) and Kuro and Sayaka are warriors of destiny (baseing this on th manipulations of the crab mystic) and the otherworldly shenanagins just started.
