Oils on canvas, 36x24. One of my favorite obsessions is the Titanic. I just love the idea of such luxury. This is one of the few paintings I made for myself. Framed and hanging in my home.This painting is a study! I wanted to practice with small architectural detail and rigging. It was reproduced free hand. The original artist is Ken Marschall. Famous for his paintings of Titanic.
First attempt to upload a larger image failed. As well as the 2nd and 3rd. I finally figured it out and now it is a full size image.
I did this due to the very large amount of people that have chosen this picture as a favorite.....and I thank all for the compliments.

I have loved ships since I was a kid (Ironic since I get seasick and hate going out on the ocean because of it). I saw Raise the Titanic as a kid and have been following the ship every since.

Now I can't tell if you did this in your drawing of the Titanic, but in most drawings of the Titanic the fourth smoke funnel has no smoke coming from it. This is because the real Titanic had no smoke coming from the forth smoke funnel because it was fake, it was all for show.

I have been waiting a very longtime for someone to ask this question. Since this is a study of an extiting work I had to look very close when painting this and did deliberately paint the fourth funnel WITHOUT smoke. Look close. The smoke is not coming from the fourth stack but just passing behind it. i believe this was done in the original painting purposely so it would not look odd.

Ah, yes now, now that I have looked more closely I can see that you've painted the forth funnel corectly. This painting is quite pleasing, I am glad that you have not only drawn the Titanic in a beautiful manner, but you have drawn it accurately to the point where it looks as it did at the time it was at sea.
