This is my part of an art trade with dear Tiara-C , featuring her OCs Akibo and Kamiko.

Akibo is a Yokai who defends his terrain againt bandits and other Yokai, so the first idea that came to mind was drawing him on a watch. But it’s a peaceful day and all he spots is a young human woman who happens to be Kamiko. Since a Japanese setting fits these two well, I eventually decided on something very natural. And I wanted to draw cherry trees! I never did so this was a nice challenge. The cherry blossoms were very fun to draw xD Either way, this was a great opportunity to differentiate more between background and foreground, which is something I wanted to try out for a while now. Coloring was especially challenging this time. I'm very satisfied with the mountain and think that the river turned out nicely as well. If I had to color this again I'd decide against the "light through the leaves" effect on Akibo, but this is also something I wanted to try my hands on for a long time now. If I do this kind of effect again, digital coloring is probably a better idea
