My contest entry for *Kiba-lnuzuka 's contest which can be found here: [link]Oh God I will be even less active on dA than I thought I would thanks to my Internet. This is the only thing I will upload in this time because the deadline is so soon!! No more uploads for a while now <__<
About the picture:
As Raven fell from Heaven, his wings began to deteriorate and eventually they vanished completely by the time he stumbled onto Earth.
And this is pretty much what happens here
He looses his white feathers which turn black.The feathers were fun to draw!
I hope that the perspective works and that the water looks lke water
By the way, I appreciate comments a lot, but due to my situation I won't be able to answer them for a while. I would be really happy if you would strill write something though!

Vision
I thought it was an interesting idea and I think it looks really nice! Also, some of the overlapping with the feathers was a nice touch and adds to the depth e.deviantart.net/emoticons/s/s… " width="15" height="15" alt="
Originality
I'm going to be honest, the falling person with angel wings isn't very original (or at least I've personally seen it before) but the character isn't super emo looking (all black) or he isn't super bright and colorful like he was falling from heaven and he's not supposed to be falling or something XD

Technique
I feel that that if he was falling towards the ground, maybe his wings wouldn't be able to be upright from the way he's falling and wind resistance and such.
so maybe the wings should be more folded?
And maybe a few more feathers for overlapping, smaller and bigger ones to show more depth e.deviantart.net/emoticons/s/s… " width="15" height="15" alt="

You're right about the wings! I totally forgot about "gravity" or whatever one should call it in this context - thanks for pointing that out!
And the advice with the smaller and bigger feathers is quite useful as well! It will probably help me in future pictures when the picture lacks depth!

I like the idea. I hope to see more from you when you can get back. I totally understand about the internet though. I have been leeching from the library until I can set up my own internet as well as my own laptop. That way I'll have a way to post and then there's the external hard drive. O o;; There's a lot I have to do XD

WOW, the feathers are amazing! However, the wings need some work, but I'm sure you will progress since the individual feathers you draw are already great!
I love the perspective and motion you tried to incorporate here. However, the sky looks more like water with how you shaded it. The "falling" effect would have been more convincing if you added folds to the clothes and the direction of the hair going "up".
The coloring and shading are really amazing, and the lighting gives it a "shiny" effect! Great work, and best wishes on the contest!
