And yet another entry for my Create Your Own Sargassian / Kernian Event . This time submitted by user belvis26 who remembered a one-armed Oni he had as a hero once and that was it. They did give a couple more ideas they want to see get added and I did.

And now, this character's story:

The oni known as Cúrganos was rather confused when he first woke up in The Super-Sargasso Sea and on the island nation of Iapana . His memories after first waking up were muddled and kinda hard to remember. From the few scraps he was able to piece together, he was one of four brothers whose job was to go door to door and ensure that the children were well behaved and newlyweds have kept to traditions as their universe's equivalent to The Bogeyman.

However, as he traveled around the city of Mikado in the middle of the night to continue his job in a human disguise, he came across a rather dreadful sight in a near-by alleyway. A group of Yokai delinquents who were busy harassing aa young boy. Enraged by this sight, Cúrganos immediately approached the gang. The Gang thought that he was a human with a missing arm. Meaning that he was easy prey. That was until The Oni dropped his human disguise and revealed his massive form to the delinquents that towered over them. The thugs were immediately frightened by this sight and ran out of the alley, thinking that the oni would want to snack on the boy they were harassing instead of them.

Seeing the gang run off, Cúrganos shapeshifted back into his human disguise and approached the child, being gentle with him so as to not make the boy too frightened. It took a bit of coaxing, but the boy did realize that this Oni wasn't going to hurt him. Cúrganos learned from conversing with the boy that the boy was trying to get back to the orphanage he was staying in, but he was jumped by those thugs. Realizing that the boy was without a proper guardian, Cúrganos decided to escort the boy back to the orphanage though in his human disguise since he didn't want to scare the bejeezus out of the other kids. At least not yet.

So without other incidents along the way, the two did reach the orphanage. Cúrganos explained what happened and the supervisor of the orphanage thanked him for helping the boy out. The two did discuss a bit further with the supervisor learning that Cúrganos is a newcomer to The Sea and doesn't really have anywhere to go. Nor an actual job yet. So it was agreed that he can work for the orphanage to get some kind of income and he can visit the boy more often since the boy had that look in his eyes that he wanted the disguised oni to stick around.

Plus this allows Cúrganos to continue his old job, but he has to do things a bit differently since this was brand new territory for him to explore and he wants to make sure that he can do his job within what is allowed by this city's rules. Plus he can help guide the orphaned children and help them grow to become responsible adults when they mature.
