Description
Day 4: Bearded Dragon
Reflection:
This was a lot of fun but that could be because I own a beardie and I think they are really beautiful reptiles. I gave myself a time limit on this so I find a way to work with the soft spikes, lighting and working with shapes first. I can still work and learn which is exciting to know and this is just simply a step in the right direction. Day 4 complete!

This drawing is very well done. You made it like the reference you used, but you also make it your own. I think the black, white, and gray makes the outline pop. How long did it take to make?

I don't remember to be honest. Maybe an hour? I fell out of drawing and tried to come back and then fell out again. Thank you for the comment! I appreciate reading them and enjoy knowing others still like my drawings.

After all this time, coming across your drawings still fill me with joy. It is amazing to see you're still here with us! How are you?
I guess I am kind of late with that, but let me wish you all the very best in the New Year!
I guess this drawing really was a matter of time, when taking care of such a wonderful creature. I always wonder whether they grow attached to their owners or not. A friend of mine told me once, that the agamas of his and his wife kind of have, but they suspect only because of the feeding. They are a pair of wonderful lizards, and so is the bearded dragon! I guess it's in the spikes.
What I love about your drawing the most though is the way you've captured perspective. The way these blurry lines of the background meet the sharper lightning and contour of its head is really interesting to look at - and I can't wait to see more. Thank you very much for sharing it with us!

Thank you much! I am trying to become more active this year with drawing. I know if I do something everyday that by the end of the year I can look back and see that I have grown and that is very exciting to look forward to! But I need to take those steps in order to get there.
My beardie hasn't grown attached to me even with feeding. He just kind of does his own thing and chills out a lot. But he lets me hold him, carry him around my apartment and sleeps with me so in a way I guess he just sees me as part of nature that he encounters like he would a tree brach or rock...only I move and feed him. Plus i am warm and saves him from his baths I put him in.
I am not going to lie, I love their eyes and I feel like I did justice in this piece to incorporate that. Thank you for such an awesome comment!

Thanks to you, I have even more to look forward to this year. I can't wait to see what you'll have in store for us! I am also really happy to hear you're looking forward to it as well.
Well, I am by no means an expert in this regard, but I really do hope your beardie will grow attached to you eventually. What is his name? I guess it would be a nice feeling, especially coming from such an interesting animal.
I have a little crazy dog, and she never ceases to melt my heart. Whenever I am out to buy groceries, even if it is just for 10 minutes, when I'm back she rushes to the door to greet me in her usual way: jumping all over me, cuddling to my feet and waggling her tail off. I love her so much, she's a great addition to the family.
Any way, I am truly happy I could talk with you again, Amanda! Take care!

Animals are so great no matter what they are. Dog. Lizard. Cat. I love my cats too. And I am happy to be back onto this drawing thing. Hopefully I get a lot better!
