Description
Rules for Stock:
I upload Photography for the purpose of helping other people learn and help them expand in their art. This means I only allow people to use the image for their own learning and not for business. 
If you use a Stock Image, you do NOT need to 
but please, give me credit and also send me a link. All photography in my gallery are up for stock. Do not need to ask, just use and send me a link so I can your work. Please be kind and do not resubmit my photographs anywhere unless it's a blog and you give credit and a link to my DA page. It's just common (artist) courtesy. Full resolution to your right.

Your view DD's is very, well, narrow.
DD's were started to show and give a feature to an artist one of their images. They can be amazing but they also choose images that can be very useful for other artist's to use. It's a way of highlighting an artist's gallery and also to share. Not all DD's have to be perfect and amazing.
Here is what I said to someone else to said the same thing:
"Not everyone is going to agree and you do not have to. However, this is my first DD and I am very excited. Also keep in mind that it is a stock photo, which means it is only uploaded for people to learn from. It is not meant to be in an actual art gallery or be high quality. I did take a photography class in college and do know this is not grade A quality. And a DD is not meant just for outstanding artwork, it is also used to share any art that people may use as a tutorial, resource, stock, ect. That is why we have these categories and DeviantArt kindly keeps that space open for such images to share as a DD.
I do enjoy taking photos of animals up close and sharing it with people to use to draw from and learn. I would rather have an artist learn from an actual animal than from other people's drawings. You get the best results when you can actually look and examine how an animal behaves and looks.
P.S. Also keep in mind that when you do say something like this, people will indeed look at your gallery and will judge your comment's value based on how much you actually know yourself about a subject. Just try and remember that next time."

Did you even bother to read the reason for the DD at all (i.e., this is to be used as a stock image), or do you just have a rare and debilitating reading comprehension disability?

My pleasure. It's sad to see how many people think that DDs should all be amazing works of art without considering that a useful stock image is just as valuable to the community. I'm sure lots of people will find your photo helpful for both reference and photo manipulation, and they might not have ever seen it had it not gotten a DD.

If you seriously believe that this got a DD because "LOL CUTE" and not because it is a useful stock image, as expressed quite clearly in both my comment and the description, then obviously my latter assumption was correct.

You missed the point. It's not a DD because it's "cute", it's because it can be a very good reference photo for people wanting to draw a lion cub. Did you knew that lion cubs have spots like leopards when they are little? I didn't until I saw and held him. His spots are so big and dark.

It's Stock photography. That means it's not meant to be a piece in itself, but something to help other artists who might use it for a drawing reference or a photo-manipulation. Says so even in the DD description.
