Description Make me a quilt that I might sleep
Made up of guilt, and old abandoned dreams
Oh mother, the streets make so much noise at night
I wish that the world would just die down when I flip the light

I am breathing in the stress
All of this seems so meaningless

Oh mother, the postage here is far too high
I'm starting to think that maybe you were right
Oh mother, a candle's lit up in my room
In hopes that you might come to visit soon

I am breathing in the new car smell
And wondering how much time will tell
'Cause truth be told, I'm done with stories

Mama, can you stop the rain from pouring?

No, I can't say I know them. Are they third year?

And I'm loving it. I think I've finally found my niche. And I just found out today that putting out a book of poetry MAY be an option for my internship, so I'm pretty excited. Not sure if I'm good enough for a book yet, but we'll see

Nah, forth, but they're in film. One's my ex-boyfriend, thought I'd take a shot.

Whoa, that is freakin cool!! You absolutely have to do it. That's such an opportunity.

Lol. I shall not say the big orange building then. I shall only imply it with my shifty eyes...

*shifty eyes*

I'm technically in my fourth year, but year four is all internships. And I had a bunch of more classes I wanted to take, so I'm taking them before my internships. So instead of being a four year program for me, it will be 5 years. So I guess I'm in my fourth year out of five years. Does that make sense?

Lol it's actually a really good school. I'm at MacEwan, the one on the west end. It's not as bad as I make it sound - I would actually classify it as having the most easygoing students out of all the campuses. The only thing is that the classes for each program are usually all in the same area of the school. So music students have most of their classes on the 1st floor, writers have most of our classes on the 3rd and 4th floors. So it's not so much that people are really cliquey, just that we don't get a chance to hang out with the other programs a lot.

But it's a really friendly school for the most part. In fact, some random girl came up to me the other day (I was wearing my Northern State shirt, who were the opening band for Tegan and Sara when they came here in September) and she struck up a random conversation with me about the concert. So it's all good lol.

And if you ever decide to come check out the music program in our school before you get too famous to need school, I can show you around

...Oh dear. x.x If you say the big orange building, I may have to throw myself off of a cliff.

That said, sounds pretty cool. What year are you in?

Lol funny story about melding in with the music students...

The music program is like a little club of its own. When I was in journalism, I was sitting by the cafeteria with some friends and some guy (I think he played guitar) came and introduced himself and sat down with us. After getting the small talk out of the way, he says "Let me guess...vocalists?" And we we're like "No, journalists!"

He didn't say a word, just got up and left. And he stopped acknowledging us in the hallways lol.

That being said, I graduated journalism and am now in the professional writing program at the same campus. I know that people appreciate writers a bit more than journalists (everyone hates journalists - I learned that the hard way) but I think there's still that little bit of "You're sitting in the music area...why?" I think we're not cool enough for them.

Of course, now that I write this, I realize that you may very well be in the music program at my campus. In which case, we love the music students and they always hug us when they see us

And now that I'm done leaving you an essay-as-comment, I think I'll go check to see who's playing at your Cafe. There might not be any melding with the music students, but I'm sure I'll make it down there one day to see what's up

XDD Actually, I'm in high school, so it's all good!

But gawd, your school sounds cliquey. Which is it?

For sure! If you tell me which day you're coming out, I could probably decide to man the concession that night!

This makes me want to go sleep in London.

*is vaguely aware that makes me sound like a prostitute*

I like it. Very nicely done

And apparently a lot of the music students at my school play at the place you work. I keep seeing ads for their shows which is funny, because before you told me you worked there, I hardly saw any lol.
