Description
I had a friend once. She had a home in the keys
Of my piano.
She would sing me to sleep in the morning
And tell me stories by the light of the moon,
Things to make me laugh
When the emptiness became unbearable.
Things to make me cry
When I needed the release.
And melodies to swallow the pain,
Water to the big bitter pill that was my mind.
She died tonight.
As I called upon her,
The haste in which she rushed to me
Unraveled her fragile form.
Her smooth figure falling down as ribbons,
Fluttering between the cracks
To the old wood below.
As I begged for her to return,
The stars inclined their sight down
And I felt her peace fill me.
Embracing me like a sister,
Loving me like an innocent.
I know she'll be with me
On lonely nights,
And with me even when I'm with another.
For though all that's left
Are ribbons and melancholy melodies,
I have the light she made me,
And continues to send down.

You may not have been awake enough to know what it is, but it's still fantastic.
