Description I don't want to write a love poem
Yet here it is
Dripping from my pores,
The most cliche piece of
Sentimental shit
That I ever...
actually wanted to write.

Apparently I lie a lot.
Or maybe I just confuse myself
To the point where I think I'm lying
But really, I'm just
Avoiding the truth.
Because I want to map this out,
And I want to pin it onto you.

I want to find you
In the downstairs hall closet-
The trashiest, most predictable,
Most dangerous place.
I want to find you out
In the open, where the masses
Could judge and preach,
That's where we could love.

I want your lips
To mean something,
When they're on mine
I want the world to go silent.
I want the world to behold.

I know that at this precise moment
That we're not talking,
You're off on your own.
Yet at the same time
By some cruel twist of fate,
You're looking over my shoulder.
You're making sure that I'm
Writing these words,
And your lips mean something
As they unlock a gentle laugh...

You know that I (don't) want
To write you a love poem,
But I don't do it for me.

And that's how I know.

Quite nice. I struggle every time I write a love poem, yet almost all are about love. I just feel so...sappy. Ugh. You pull it off very nicely though.

Haha, thanks. ^.^" And yeah. That's generally why I don't like writing them, because they all sound so, well, 'ugh' to me. But I think it's because a lot of people leave the frustration out of it, and that's a big part of love, so I dunno. Too complicated, this whole love-poem thing. >.>
