I've seen the sky glow orange
I've seen the moon glow red
The stars, in their brightest form,
From the window beside my bed.

The glass grows murky when it's cold
Strange frosted sillhouettes
Casting shadows none too bold
Against my dresser and cabinets.

Sometimes when nights turn to days,
I lean against the sill,
Stare across the city haze
Until everything grows still.

Then blinking 'gainst the glass
I wander through my tired head,
Watching the clouds slowly pass
From the window beside my bed.
