Rojo, my dear, time hasn't been good to you at all...
Well, Rojo is another OC of mine who's been re-designed. In addition to that the character now looks well worn and faded and that he's become old and dry, many other details of his image have gone through rethinking.

I've removed his gold and jadeite earplugs, giving him round bone plugs making more sense in the plot instead. I've also removed his labret, his necklace, the dark markings on his wrists and ankles, and the eagle tattoo on his back. All these details have happened to be unsuitable.
The pattern on his face is also missing in the new drawing because it isn't supposed to be a permanent detail. He's face (and body) should be painted only during particular rituals, and the pattern can vary in color and shape.

Other details added in the new version of his image will be mentioned and explained below. For a clearer picture of the changes see the fullbody version that's supposed to be part of the future reference sheet, if I stay fine with the skill: (just keep in mind that the hair is likely to be even longer in fact).

Ethnic/Nationality: Mexican; Nahua
Religion: pagan
Sexual orientation: asexual/aromatic
Status: single

Appearance.
- The character is tall, skinny, dry, and a little shabby.
- The fur is medium harsh, its color is inbetween redwood and burgundy or something, with fine strands of gray hair that also can be noticed in the long black hair on his head; the hair looks unbrushed and is almost never tied.
- The fingers and toes end with massive curved claws.
- The eyes have yellowish whites and green irises, they're often inflamed and permeated with a mesh of blood vessels, framed with lilac eyelids; the look usually expresses a mixture of fatigue and serenity.
- The ears are stretched with bone plugs and jagged along their edges due to regular bloodletting rituals; the lips should look chapped for the same reason.
- Been thinking about including the detail of pale scars on his wrists, ankles and back, the same color as the skin on his palms and feet, but this detail is still in question.
- The character is clearly not young, but it's difficult to guess his age by his appearance.

Personality and else.

- 'Rojo' means 'Red' in Spanish, and this nickname apparently refers to the tone of his fur.
- His unkempt appearance is explained by the fact he rarely touches his hair, for certain reasons connected with the widespread belief that a sorcerer's power is concentrated in their hair; since Rojo is a shaman and a medicine-man, he's surely interested in preserving his abilities.
- He often smokes dubious mixtures, using a ceramic pipe that he holds like a dart, which is traditional for the Aztec culture (in the fullbody image shared above he holds it the wrong way).
- Sometime in the past he's had an identical twin brother (that's a fairly rare phenomenon in the rodent world).
- His tutelary spirit ('tonalli' in Nahuatl) is Axolotl, which has also been his brother's (twins are believed to share one tutelary spirit).
- Rojo leads a semi-hermitic and ascetic lifestyle and lives alone, devoting himself to the service of forgotten gods and spirits, from time to time accepting those who strongly need his help (or those who are ready to offer a pretty significant payment for his help).
- In everyday life he wears the simplest clothes; only for certain rituals and on special days he can dress in a traditional Aztec outfit with appropriate decorations, and paint his face and body. Any piece of clothing or accessory has a certain meaning to him, and he prefers to avoid touching what's inappropriate to his status or unsuitable for a particular case.
- Rojo's an eloquent person, his speech is rich in poetic epithets and complex phrases, and it's also notable for the pronunciation uncharacteristic for local residents.
- His facial expression is usually pacified; his voice is even and low; his moves and speech are unhurried, even inhibited sometimes. However, in fact his mimic and body language are well-developed and even can impress with creepy expressiveness, while he himself is stronger and much more agile and vigorous than it seems at the first glance on his sickly skinny body.
- Rojo has a neutral personality. He's wise, calm, imperturbable, preferring not to fuss, as if knowing all the hopelessness of this world and so considering most of what people do a waste of energy. Because of this attitude he may seem contemptuous and mocking in relation to his interlocutor's aspirations and worries, even if in fact he shows benevolence and isn't indifferent toward them.
