Color Palette: Manganese Blue Hue, Pthalo Blue, Cobalt Teal Blue, French Ultramarine, Prussian Blue, Indanthrone Blue, Hansa Yellow, Isoindonone Yellow, Permanent Rose

My theme for 2022 is Mucha-Inspired Art Nouveau! This month's painting is all about the beauty of hydrangeas, one of my favorite flowers. Each month will have a different flower as the inspiration. I chose to use a wide range of blues but to keep other colors very restrained. I took a lot of cues from my main stock image, which I fell in love with a while ago but didn't have the confidence before to paint from.

I've always loved Alphonse Mucha's work, but I never wanted to imitate it directly. The things that draw me are his graceful female figures, flowing garments, and usage of flowers.
