This painting is based on a photograph of my mother's tulips from last year.

Not sponsored: Anna Bucciarelli's and Louise De Masi's YouTube videos reminded me to take a breath, slow down, and really enjoy thoughtfully painting each flower petal, and how to observe the colors inside the petals, so that I could really get in the zone.

I wanted to go back to what calms me the most, which is painting flowers, and also to really embrace a limited color palette.
