Here's everyone you'll meet in the LaFontant Family when you first look at the tree.

* Let's start off with the grandparents.
** Couple #1 is Peter "Stinky Pete" LaFontant and Nancy "Nana" LaFontant.
** Couple #2 is Carl James Fredricksen and Mabel Sharp Fredricksen.

* Now onto the first children, AKA the parents and 2 uncles.
** Stinky Pete and Nana's 3 sons are Dwayne, Shaw and Shelbourne. They, along with their parents, all share the same surname: LaFontant (named after their father, Stinky Pete).
** Carl and Mabel have a daughter named "Gladys". Her surname is "Sharp" (named after her mother, Mabel).

* Last but not least, the grandchildren, AKA the main children of the show.
** Since Dwayne LaFontant and Gladys Sharp are married, this makes Gladys's last name, "Sharp", become her middle name, with her new last name being "LaFontant".
** Dwayne and Gladys's 3 children (which are 2 sons and 1 daughter) are: Penny Forrester LaFontant, Sid Phillips LaFontant and Russell LaFontant.
** Penny Forrester is the only daughter and the oldest child in the family. (She's 13 years old.)
** Sid Phillips is the older son and the middle child in the family. (He's 11 years old.)
** Russell is the younger son and the youngest child in the family. (He's 8 years old.)
