Description
I had read The Lost World 2 years before the stupid movie came out, and this was among my favorite scenes in it. Obviously it was far too good to be in the movie. Ugh, what a disappointment.Related content

Blame Spielberg for not adapting this scene into the film.

I loved the movie until I read the book and realized how much better it should have been. Then again, I mainly loved the movies for the single scene with the Mamenchisaurus... I was 14, so the dinosaurs were all that mattered to me at the time.

I liked the Lost World film. It's one of my favorite sequels. However, I will admit that this part from the novel was epic.

Very epic.
But there are errors: The raptors are a different color, a darker one, and Kelly's hair is blond and Sarah's is black and shorter.

Hmm... Two years before the movie came out, I was...Three years old...
I read the book ten years after the movie, so there was no disappointment to me, but I'll admit, whoever made the movie was an idiot.
Nice work, by the way!

It was Spielberg who made the film.

This was more of the better parts of the second book. I didn't like the second one nearly as much as the first book, but I still liked it better than the movie.

I'll agree with you that the movie is inferior to the the book, but at least it's better than JP3.

Had the Lost World been actually adapted properly, it would have been so great.

You should read both. But the Lost World is the only sequel to a novel Chrichton wrote. And it deconstructs the elements introduced in Jurassic Park, both novel and film. It's not about cloning, but more a discussion about the behavior of cloned animals in an isolated environment.

It's difficult for me to describe how this scene is so awesomely improbable... no, wait, more like improbably awesome.

But Joshua, why doesn't the raptor look like a giant turkey?
That's what they're supposed to look like. A guy in a lab-coat totally said so.
