Description Lost wax cast sterling silver honeysuckle vine from behind my studio. After admiring the beauty of the dead vine, I thought it needed to be preserved for others to enjoy. The bale was handmade in wax to seamlessly blend into the vine and continue around the necklace wire itself.

That is a beautiful necklace. Your pieces are unusual and I love unusual. Do you have any pieces with colored stones either precious or semi-precious?

This is lovely and so unique! Did you dip the vine into the silver, or did you create it using the vine as the reference?

Thank you! To answer your question, neither actually. I used the lost wax casting method in which I made a plaster mold of the stem after adding the wax worked bale, then it was put in the kiln and burnt out so only the mold remained. After that all I had to do was add the molten silver and run the centrifuge. It is an exact duplicate of the stem and wax add-on.
