Description Touch FX, a Russian animation studio, is producing a series, Ot Vinta 3D, which has -- you guessed it -- anthro-planes as its main cast. It's an admirable effort, but not without problems.

Look at the characters, especially the male lead, Knight, and you'll see what I'm talking about. I think he has a lot of appeal, but taking the time to make his face more expressive and focusing his eyes would make a real difference for this guy.

I've just seen this movie today. It was bad but way better than I expected and better than most of the mockbusters out there. Knight(he was called Maverick in the German version) was kinda cute but I agree that his expressions weren't well done. He was smiling at the worst possible times lol. Yeah...the movie had its problems but for a mockbuster...it's good. I was sorta entertained by it.

How about the fact that aircraft in this movie can hover like a UFO, or a VTOL aircraft. Let alone the terrible rendering for the characters, and how they do in fact appear derpy.

I live in Moscow and a watched this in cinema...that movie was so depressing for me I love living planes so much but characters was terribly rendered...

For me, watching this was like spying glints and hints of promise amidst what is mostly landfill. That critique was me still being reasonably nice to them, I can be SAVAGE. They better not get me rolling LOL

the animation was bad but i loved the plot (despite it being really similar to the first Cars movie ) but now i cant stop watching the movie cuz it moved me so much O.O the emotional content was so powerful in Ot Vinta, and powerful emotions make for a good movie. the soundtrack was better than all that country crap both Cars movies had too

it was awesome how The Veteran started getting into all the metaphysical history of planes and such, was such a powerful scene as well as the romance between Knight and Lightening lol, adorable and powerful at the same time

That's the frustrating part of it for me, that they had some emotionally powerful material but the quality of the animation didn't do it justice. The animators need to go back to school!

yeah it was painfully bad at times but i'm such a critic of shallow children's movies, so when something comes along that actually has some deeper emotion in it, i guess i overlook the crappy animation

you know what...all of us living airplane artists need to get together and collaborate on a living airplane movie of some kind

I've thought of making a 'visual novel' kind of story, but chances are with my characters it would degenerate into them hanging out, drinking and trying to out-swear each other

hey nothing wrong with that the living airplane community has been doing that since it peaked in 2010

i've been thinking about how i would go about directing a movie involving living vehicles with an R-rated theme and plot, cuz really, living vehicles arent children's characters to me, they're human analogs, so yeah, its only natural they be as nasty as humans, but still, trying to convey that feeling to the masses....is a challenge

i thought you did a good job conveying that feeling though in the intro for "The End of Her Rope" where you ask the readers what a world with living vehicles would actually be like
