I love the expression on her face ~ as if she is holding in all the love to nurture herself. Sometimes, it's good to be self-centered, otherwise we can't nurture others, nor give of our best to others unless we top ourselves up. I also love the way you've done her hair ~ perhaps because I chair a menopausal support group, I like what appears to be grey streaks in her hair (though not sure if you meant it as that) but for me, it adds character & wisdom, and makes her look as if she's maiden, mother & bordering on crone all in one. The words "wisdom of the ages" comes to mind when looking at this painting. Gorgeous rich colours! Another truimph!
