I liked the tree against the sky but it was so grey out today so I decided it needed some color. Comments welcomedRelated content

yeah I loved the shot, but it was just so well blah and boring because of the overcast skies (ok well actually it was snowing at the time) so i decided this is where some work in photoshop will be nice. And as I said to the other person that commented, I don't think i would even have liked the shot at all if there were blue skies behind it. would have been awesome if there was a nice sunset going on at the time. I plan on going back to that lake area there again soon....when there is just a nice light dusting of snow on the ground...like this morning.... and take a nice sunrise over the lake shot. Lots of things need to be in place though, the snow, the sunrise and some clouds to get the color from the sun, which we never seem to have a problem getting around here.

No harm in enhancing a pic in whatever way you see it. You have made a depressing grey sky look pretty to the eye

thanks so much for the fave. Yeah it was just so blah, I loved the trees but the sky sucked for it yesterday. and honestly i don't think i would have liked it if it was sunny out either.

You don't have to say this is a manip but while you are changing things you could also make it sharper and a little more contrast. When you work on a photo to make it look like what you actually saw it is not really a manip! Think of it as darkroom work.. This is the best photo I think of the series though the woodpecker one is going to stick in my mind longer.

actually this is not the color that the sky was, the sky was this blah grey so I added the color in.

That in my opinion is still okay to do and not have to call it a manip.
