Description
Plot:
It's been 2 years since Bowser was defeated and the Mushroom Kingdom was restored to its peaceful state. Mario (Johnny Galecki) and Luigi (Logan Lerman) went home to Brooklyn, leaving behind the princesses Peach (Amber Heard) and Daisy (Britt Robertson), knowing they had to let them make their home a better place and continue on with their lives. All parties are still heartbroken over the situation and regret the decision to part.

Mario one night has a dream that Peach and Daisy are kidnapped by some strange lizard creature and destroyed in a machine of fire. Mario awakens in a sweat and senses something is wrong. Having a bad feeling about his premonition, Luigi and Mario decide to return to the Mushroom Kingdom so that they may reunite with the loves of their lives. When Mario and Luigi get there, they see that the kingdom has been transformed into a place of peace and harmony. But when Mario and Luigi finally find the princesses, they realize things are not what they seem.

Peach tells the brothers of a humanoid toad-like being named Wart (voiced by Woody Harrelson), that has been using an engine he calls the Nightmare Machine to turn people into zombie slaves called Shyguys. Wart has already managed to capture the land of Subcon, transforming almost all of their people into military goons. Worst of all they find out that Wart is the half-brother of Bowser and he's seeking revenge for his death. But not only is he seeking revenge, he plans on conquering the Mushroom Kingdom and the human world where Mario and Luigi came.

With the help of Toad (Charlie Day), the princesses, and the King of Subcon (Christopher Meloni), the Mario brothers embark on a journey through the jungles and deserts of Subcon while dealing with Shyguys, a three-headed cobra called Tryclyde, and a dragon-esque creature called Birdo; all on a mission to defeat Wart's evil army before they destroy life as they know it.

In the end, the Mario brothers storm Wart's fortress and defeat him using his Nightmare Machine against him, turning Wart into a small, harmless toad. With their leader gone they Shyguys surrender and are all transformed back into their original identities. Grateful for their bravery, the King of Subcon thanks their heroes for saving the kingdom and leaves with his people back to their homeland. The brothers are finally able to rekindle their relationships with the princesses and decide to go back to Brooklyn with them, handing the kingdom over to the Mushroom People to rule as they see fit.

All appears to be right in the world. But on a distant island across the globe there is a scientist by the name of Elvin Gadd who is developing a machine to capture ghosts. He believes there is a grave threat coming and is preparing for battle. What Professor Gadd does not realize is that the beings he wants to stop are already on to him.
