Without color or scale reference this is a bit tough, but the face really is feeling like perhaps a juvenile sharp shinned hawk... do you have your reference still?

The color is brown and you can compare the scale with the clovers at the bottom. It could be possible but I think the bird in the picture it's from Europe and it's a reference from a animals book. As someone said before, I agree more with Northern goshawk, thanks a lot for your contribution

Those are great things to know! In that case then yes, very likely a gos!

Do Sharpies have those white supercilia? A. gentilis looks more probable to me, but I'll admit an overall ignorance of many Accipiter species.

Juveniles can have it, but it's so hard to say without having a bit more info. It could well be a juvenile gos, too.

I would say either a Northern Harrier or a Northern Goshawk.
Incredible work!!

Not an eagle; I believe that is a goshawk (Accipiter sp. of some sort. I can try to narrow down the species later, but I suspect someone else will beat me to it.

At the moment, I agree with you! It's the most probable.

you're welcome. oh,it IS a Northern Goshawk, i checked it out on the net, and even from all those different angles, the likeness is spot on (including the white streak/ tuft above the eyes)!
