Video Timelapse R2: youtu.be/Q_yQrMTiu0w(R2 for short) robot character in the Star Wars universe. An astromech droid (referred to in the novel as a 'thermocapsulary dehousing assister'), R2-D2 is a major character in all Star Wars films. Along with his protocol droid companion C-3PO, he joins or supports Anakin Skywalker, Luke Skywalker, Princess Leia, and Obi-Wan Kenobi in various points in the saga. R2-D2 was played by English actor Kenny Baker. Along with Anakin Skywalker (Darth Vader), Obi-Wan Kenobi, and C-3PO, he is one of only four characters to appear in all six of the original Star Wars films.
(3PO for short) is a robot character from the Star Wars universe who appears in both the original Star Wars films and the prequel trilogy. He was also a major character in the ABC television show Droids, and appears frequently in the series' "Expanded Universe" of novels, comic books, and video games.
After watching the saga in TV, I thought it would be nice to represent two of the most cherished robots in a bigger size

I like everything but the background. The background cheapens the impact of it, and draws my attention away from all the nice work you've done in the droids. Also, the red light on R2D2 seems a little under-saturated to me (maybe even add a tiny bit of red reflective lighting in the metal near it). Not all the different rectilinear bits on that droid look to be in proper perspective, but it gives the droid a banged-up look, and it doesn't bother me, except on the curve on the furthest right of the droid's dome, where there is a dark line that is a tangent for the blue metal piece under it. The details on C3PO's fingers are a little vague, but the metal for that droid looks great. The biggest thing really is the background (for instance, it's shaded under his arm but light on the other side, which gives the impression of a half-finished drawing). Even a straight black background would really make things stand out more, I think. I'm not a pro, though, so take what I say with a grain of salt. I love your work -- it's just for me on this piece that background is killing it.

Thank you for taking the time to write the critique 
In this case, I tried to represent more the overall feeling that they bring to me than details and accurate proportions. Some of the perspective issues you see are maybe caused by the distortion made by the video or photo.
The background was intended to be some kind of windmill principle, light on dark background, light on light, dark on light and dark on dark. Maybe you are right a plain black or white background would make the droids stand out more.
