Charcoal and white chalk, a portrait of my husband. This is a work in progress but it is nearly finished. I've attempted several times with this pose and this is the best I've rendered.

I wanted to capture his angular features and enjoy the play of light on his face. He has intelligent eyes and an energy I tried to capture in honor of his 40th birthday.
