"In the beginning, there was nothing. The void was vast and impenetrable, blacker than all the nights in history put together. There were no stars, no worlds, no beasts, no men. Then Alaunun, the father of the gods and the first dragon, was born. Guardian of light, he pushed back the yielding void. Then came Opia, mother of the gods and guardian dragon of life and form.Β In time, the two dragons grew very attached to each other and decided to create something truly beautiful; a world that should be the canvas for all their imagination." - A Storm Cloud's Song, prologue.
The first part of one of the many creation myths in the TBOAOG world. And probably the closest one to the truth. Alaunun is the dragon on the left and Opia is the dragon on the right. I always imagined dragons sort of being the reverse of lions, with males being gracile and built for speed and females being robust tanks.
Anyway, I'm very proud of this piece. I hope you like it as much as I enjoyed painting it.

This is great! You did a really good job of rendering the gold and silver colours, and the background helps to make the dragons stand out.

The lighting is so well done here, and I love how the night sky contrasts the two dragon gods, making them pop out even more.
