Arachnius Rex was created with recycled watch parts including brass gear train wheels, balance wheels, strap springs, winding stems, watch dials, and other parts. The body of this arachnid is composed of a chassis made completely from scratch recycled parts. Three antique european style balance wheels were soldered together via winding stem bracers and around an old house fuse. various train gears, watch plates, and balance bridges act as internal decorations. The head is made from a watch dial that has been cut, sanded and shaped, along with various strap springs, spring barrel covers, and winding stems. The legs themselves are made with recycled watch strap springs (the type that holds a watch strap or band to the watch itself) along with small watch winding stems.

Size is 49mm wide by 56mm deep by 55mm tall. All creations made by A Mechanical Mind are one of a kind, never to be reproduced exactly. All parts are soldered, never glued.

Each sculpture comes with a 3” wide by 4” tall glass display dome with wooden base. Sculptures are not toys and should be handled sparingly, as their parts are tiny and delicate.

I'd advise you to take multiple pictures with different focal depts and using photoshop to stack them so you get a shallow dof but still your item in focus.

Possibly a bit of subconscious reflection on my part there. I'd always loved the Dwemers.

I wonder if the Dwemer ever made anything so beautiful and tiny in their spare time. Theirs wouldn't amount to yours, though.
