Lions live in Africa, but that doesn't mean they are Africans... If lions were humans, who's to really say what race they would be?

Well since most species that live in an environment develop adaptations to help them survive (a.k.a skin pigmentation, eye coloring, etc.) I would think that the "human" version of lions would at least have darker skin. But hey, artist interpretation right!

Huh, that's pretty cool   I didn't know there was any science behind it. I still don't think a human Simba would look right with darker skin, but that's a neat way to think about it.

I just mean that he wouldn't look the way I imagine human Simba looking. I guess people can get offended by that if they want to. It's partly because of the voice actor thing, like you said earlier. And mostly just because I like the idea of using their fur colors as their human hair and skin tone. The fur is the biggest feature that distinguishes the different lions.

Saying that he doesn't look the way you imagine him definitely clears up the offensiveness of it. And that's true! Human Simba would be a red-head! That's cute to think about

well there are white africans so I could see simba being a white african but kovu would be way darker and simba would probably be kovus color but it is still very cute.

Ah you're quite right! And the fact that the voice actor's are European could also give that impression too, so it really can swing any way.
