Sometimes the love and kindness of a brave child can help open up a lost soul filled with hate and fill. In my expansion idea to Spiders and Magic, while MJ hates Twilight for summoning Peter (who is this canon is dead following Part IV) away without even giving him a choice, believing that Twilight never deserved Peter, and blames her for all the troubles and tragedies she had to endure in Spider-Man's absence and even sees her as a threat upon witnessing her fight with Venom-Luna. Peter and Twilight's second daugther, Gwen Reilly, however MJ does not hate, since she never did anything wrong to her, but rather comes to care for her as a friend and like she was her own child because she reminds her so much of Peter in terms of how much Gwen is much like her father and the fact that she shares the first name of the late Gwen Stacy. This friendship however is put at risk when MJ's vengeance towards Twilight and even Twilight's mistrust towards MJ gets in the way.
At some point, orchestrated by the Spider-Queen, MJ (now the Scarlet Spider) and reluctantly Twilight have a fight to the death. Just when MJ was about to finish the fight, Twilight apologises to MJ for what she did, taking full responsibility for her own actions and accepting her fate, with her final request being that MJ takes care of Gwen for her. Confused and conflicted, MJ is faced with a dilemma and can't make a choice to whether take her vengeance or spare Gwen from following the same path MJ had fallen into. Only at the timely intervention of Gwen, who begs MJ not to kill her mom, does MJ make her final choice and snaps out of her hate. Ashamed of what she almost did and what she had become, MJ backs away, falls down and breaks down in tears crying. Seeing how emotionally broken MJ is, Gwen walks over to her and gives her a compassionate comforting hug. MJ is confused why Gwen is being to forgiving towards her even after she almost killed her own mom, to which Gwen replies that is what friends do and that her friendship is worth fighting for, also saying that her father Peter would've done the same thing if he were still here. Her heart brightened up, MJ lets out her tears and accepts Gwen's embrace with her own tight one, all while Twilight (recovering from her injuries) looks on, actually feeling proud of her daughter for following her heart.
Nice work as always, Amelia!

Yeah, um... not really a good adaptation of MJ in my opinion, Ed, but the picture looks nice.

Well this is only a portion of the whole idea I have with this. But hey, I wouldn't expect you to understand it.

Is it the symbiote tainting her thoughts and emotions the same way Venom did with Luna, because if not, I REALLY donβt see MJ turning down that path. And I can say that in full confidence while also admitting that I donβt know her that well in the comics.

Well I should remind you that MJ had a rough childhood due to her abusive father and would always try to hide away her pain through her "party girl" persona. It was only until the death of her friend Gwen Stacy that MJ started to open up more to Peter. However here in Spiders and Magic, Twilight summoned Peter BEFORE MJ could comfort him after Gwen's death and therefore Twilight unintentionally took the role MJ was meant to fill. Peter was her guiding light as she was to him in the comics. Without him, MJ would go on to be a completely different person (which I do have certain reasons why BTW), eventually leading her to become the Scarlet Spider in an altered Spider-Island event. MJ's change of character and alternate depiction is meant to represent the consequences Twilight's actions may have had.
