Description Well, I HAD intended to make this another animated GIF comic, but I guess it was too big or something because my GIF software kept crashing every time I went to save it. So you get a standard PNG comic instead. If anyone wants to see the animated parts, the original panels without text have been tossed into my stash here.

There's a lot of text going on in this comic, mainly because there's a lot of stuff to go over when it comes to joints. If anyone has issues with the font, I can transcribe it for you.

I'm sure we've all seen a hyperactive dog that's struggling to go further than its leash will allow. That's basically what's going on with your physics when you have rigid bodies that want to move too much and joints that are too restrictive. To calm them down, you need to make them not want to move as much or loosen up those joints. Assuming no other physics variables are also causing this behavior, of course. If there are other factors at play, this alone won't solve it.

A small note about limits: When it comes to the MOV/Slide limits, you really, REALLY don't need the range to be very big in most cases. And that's if you need one at all. These limits basically let things stretch out by allowing a certain amount of distance between two rigid bodies before the joint starts pulling the next one to follow the first. In most cases, you're going to be fine with just setting a range for the rotation limits and leaving the movement limits as all 0.

The "initilize" buttons just reset a bunch of numbers to all 0s.
