Description
Well, after several months of debate, I finally collapsed and bought Photomatrix Pro. I have been toying with it last night and this morning and this is what I came up with. I don't want to have those super overdone, haloed HDR photos and I don't want them to be too flat with no dark areas either. This is my first attempt at processing a photo in PMP. It's definately not where I want to be with it, but I have made like 5 attempts and doing this single shot well so I am going to move on, post it, get some feedback (hopefully), and try another shot.
This shot was taken on Foothills Parkway in the Great Smoky Mountains on a rainy day. It was raining late in the day at my cabin so I drove up the road about 30 minutes and too a ton of shots of the rain clouds coming over the mountains into this valley.
Like I mentioned before, HDR in Photomatrix, Post-Processing in PS with some curves and levels tweaks and a little boost of the sky color. Serious feedback and criticism would be great. Thanks!

Great HDR, especially for your first attempt...
... well ... 5th
Photomatrix is a great program & I think you're taking the right approach re-working one image to figure out how to get rid of those halos.
