Description ahhhh so its finally done.
I've been working on this for a reallllly long time.

I did the line art back in November, inked it soon after, but only recently coloured it. *shrugs* I don't know why it took so long for me to get around do doing it. Whatever. Its done now, and i loooove it.

I did the Background tonight. Used the Tree from [link] but everything else is mine.

I'm requesting a critique because I want to improve my artwork. Any input you have is greatly appreciated.
Thanks!

This is a pretty good drawing. It's obvious you're trying to express Link's constant thoughts about Zelda, and it's pretty obvious who our iconic hero is- the likeness is undeniable, and your vision is pretty clear. Even if I have seen similar pictures a hundred times... such is fanart.

Your anatomy is very good. Other than a bit of concern over the right forearm maybe being a little short, the bodies are drawn very well.

The only three things that I'll offer some constructive criticism over are the clothing folds, shading and background. You may want to look up how to add folds in clothing. You have a solid base understanding, but some of them are a bit awkward. My nitpicking with the background is that it's too detailed- were I you, I'd have blurred the branches to stop it from competing with Zelda's shadow so much for attention.

Finally, your shading. There are a few key things to remember: First, be consistent. On his gauntlets you have the top section shaded at the bottom, but the others aren't? That's physically... odd. Second, outlining when cell shading is unrealistic. Some places like clothing folds will need slim lines of shading, but you might want to focus more on larger areas. Finally, remember objects cast shadows! With the lighting you used, his hat should be casting a shadow over his back.

Overall the image is pretty good. I wish you luck on your next works~

Thank you so much for your input. I found all your points to be very valid and helpful. You pointed out some small details that I simply did not think of.
Thanks
