Description
In the middle of a neighborhood filled with all the problems of a big city, I found myself in a small oasis. Her house was lived in by 5 generations of women and backed out into an agrocultural paridise. They grew their own coffee, dried it, roasted it, and sold it. They had fruit trees of all sorts, chickens and roosters too.I felt like I was back in the Brazilian countryside that I had grown to love so deeply. The grandmother gave us a cake made from corn that took a day to prepare and coffee from her garden. It was incredible. I asked if there was any way I could buy some of this coffee, and two weeks later we returned to find two large containers waiting, we gave her more than what most make in a month. She said she would buy a new dress with it and I left with priceless memories and the incredible gift of some of life's simpler pleasures.

I really love your description of the piece. It adds such a wonderful dimension to the work and really helps put the viewer there. Indeed after reading what you wrote about this photo it makes me feel a little nostalgic for the place...almost as if I had been there myself. Wonderfully done! You should be a writer.

Oh me too! You really made me want to go visit that place and experience it again (for the first time heheh). I'm serious when I say you should write. You have a real skill for it.

Aw, she reminds me of my Oma! And the old lady in Austria. They all have this look of
" I give good hugs! "
Makes me happy looking at this. Old people always know the best stuff!
